Branding, Motion, Naming
Mutek is a festival dedicated to the promotion of electronic music and the digital arts. The branding takes a festive approach & has a visual parallel with the traditional stencils (Papel Picado) used in Mexico for various celebrations. Student Project
The name MMXX stemmed from the year of the festival (2020 / MMXX in roman numerals) and the acronym given to the festival (MMX / Mutek Mexico).
The effect was achieved using stencils & paint. The shapes we’re then filmed & remapped & composited into the animation sequences.
